Helene’s Bar at the Park Farm Hotel in Hethersett was around 11 years old and looking tired and dated when we were commissioned to redesign the space.
There had been a conservatory added that was open plan to the rest of the room but with a hard floor and pale window dressings it made the room feel cold and uninviting.
The aim of our design brief was to bring this area into the main room by flowing carpet throughout and dressing the windows with roman blinds in different fabrics.
The eclectic look continues with the furniture with different styles of chairs and sofas with varying seat and back heights to give the guests a choice of seating depending on whether they are relaxing, eating or having a meeting. There are often solo business travellers at the hotel and it was important to make them feel comfortable within the space.
The heather inspired colour scheme is a nod to the rural Norfolk location and the artwork features photographs of local South Norfolk heather covered ground. Bronzed mirror glass was used behind the bar with faux leather panels on the bar front.
The overall feel of the space is relaxing and comfortable and is now a well used and enjoyed key area of the hotel for a range of uses.
